As Executive Director, Karli will expand the organization by promoting the utilization of registered apprenticeship in health care occupations throughout Alaska. She will be identifying employer needs and assisting in developing apprenticeship programs of appropriate rigor and relevance. Prior to joining AHCAC, Karli was the Development Director for the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation where she gained extensive experience in fundraising, membership management and non-profit operations.
Karli is passionate about community service with a focus on disability advocacy. In 2016, she was selected for a fellowship with the UAA Center for Human Development’s LEND program, a graduate-level interdisciplinary leadership training for individuals who have a commitment to providing family-centered coordinated systems of health care and related services to individuals with disabilities. She is a member of the state Inclusive Community Choices council and a current member and Past Chair of the Early Intervention Committee for the Governor’s Council on Disabilities and Special Education, where she was appointed as a Council Member from 2012-2015. Additionally, Karli assists with social media and public relations for the Alaska Chapter of the National Down Syndrome Congress and is involved with the Alaska Key Coalition. She previously served as President of the Board of Directors for Stone Soup Group and as Co-Chair of the United Way Emerging Leaders Advisory Council.
